NGK INSULATORS, LTD. has begun an EMS demonstration at the newly established N-Terrace facility at its Nino Plant in Gifu Prefecture. The initiative will demonstrate energy management combining an SOFC, solar power and battery storage at the site.
The demonstration will integrate multiple energy sources, including an SOFC, with the aim of meeting the plant’s energy demand through on-site consumption. Optimization through the combination of solar power generation and battery storage is expected to be a central focus.
The establishment of N-Terrace provides an environment for verifying the stable supply and efficient use of energy, and attention is expected to focus on the effectiveness of the EMS and the results of its operational demonstration.
The initiative has been reported as part of a broader theme that includes the use of cogeneration in combination with a self-consumption-based solar power generation system.
