Honda announced that it will introduce the high-performance “ACURA INTEGRA Type S” sold in North America to the Japanese market in the second half of 2026. The company plans to offer the locally produced Integra in Japan, and expectations are building regarding the body type and specifications for its Japanese introduction.
The U.S.-spec Integra Type S is a 5-door hatchback measuring 4725mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1407mm in height, with seating for 4. The vehicle weighs 1460kg and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four turbo producing 320hp and 310lb-ft of torque. It uses front-wheel drive paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The North American price is reported to be $53,900 (approximately ¥8.5 million at the exchange rate as of October 2026), while the price of the Japanese-market model has not been disclosed. The formal announcement and pricing details for its introduction to Japan will be the focus going forward.
Reaction in Japan has been mixed online to specifications such as left-hand drive and the 6-speed manual transmission, with some calling for the return of a 3-door coupe. For now, the market is waiting for the formal announcement of the final specifications, launch date and price.
