Jensen Huang, CEO of AI semiconductor giant NVIDIA, visited Japan this July. As part of his activities there, a social gathering for 16 suppliers, dubbed the “Yakiton Summit,” was held at a yakiton restaurant in Tokyo’s Kanda district.
The event had an atmosphere reminiscent of a student drinking party, and the attendees included the heads of major Japanese suppliers. Although its purpose was not made explicit, the gathering attracted attention as part of efforts to strengthen the supply chain, according to local business sources.
At the gathering, Jensen served premium whisky he had made himself, and reportedly showed attendees and restaurant staff bottles bearing his handwritten signature. Photos and video records of the event were also found online.
