Daihatsu has partially upgraded the Mira e:S and launched it nationwide. Fuel economy and driving performance have been improved, Smart Assist enhanced, and a new X "Limited" grade added.
The Mira e:S has received a partial upgrade, with a new engine and electronic control unit adopted to improve fuel economy and driving performance, followed by a nationwide launch.
In terms of driving performance and fuel economy, 2WD models improve from the previous 25.0 km/L to 27.0 km/L, an increase of approximately 8%, while 4WD models improve from 23.2 km/L to 24.4 km/L, an increase of approximately 5%. Maximum output rises from 49 ps to 52 ps, maximum torque from 57 Nm to 60 Nm, and the engine speed at which maximum torque is produced falls to 3,600 rpm, balancing acceleration performance and fuel economy.
For safety, the Smart Assist preventive safety system has been enhanced. Roadside-departure and lane-wandering alerts have been added, while functions for detecting crossing bicycles, oncoming vehicles when turning right at intersections, and crossing pedestrians have been expanded. The upgrade also includes nighttime pedestrian detection and brake control for the erroneous-start suppression function.
For the design and new grade lineup, Ceramic Green Metallic and Grace Brown Crystal Mica have been added to the body-color options. The grade structure has also been simplified, and the new X "Limited" grade introduced.
Pricing by grade is ¥1,096,700 for the 2WD L, ¥1,256,200 for the 2WD X, ¥1,380,500 for the 2WD X "Limited," ¥1,223,200 for the 4WD L, ¥1,382,700 for the 4WD X, and ¥1,507,000 for the 4WD X "Limited."
