松井証券 and ドコモSMTBネット銀行 are raising the maximum ordinary yen deposit rate offered by MATSUI Bank to 0.85% per year under a tiered system based on securities balances. The new rate will apply from 1 October 2026 before tax and will be subject to separate withholding tax.
松井証券 announced that it would raise MATSUI Bank's maximum ordinary yen deposit rate to 0.85% per year. The top Platinum tier applies to securities balances of ¥10 million or more, with the rate after tax amounting to 0.677% per year.
The Gold tier pays 0.72% per year for securities balances of ¥1 million or more, while the Regular tier pays 0.61% for balances below ¥1 million. Eligible securities balances include Japanese and U.S. stocks as well as investment trusts, excluding iDeCo and foreign-currency MMFs.
Interest is subject to 20.315% withholding tax under the separate withholding tax regime. Combining deposit interest with the investment-balance points service is expected to provide benefits from both rewards and interest. The sweep deposit function can also automate fund transfers, allowing customers to manage investments while earning interest.
New account holders will receive the top Platinum tier for 3 months, and an upgrade benefit is available for designating the account to receive salary payments. Service expansion using BaaS is also being pursued.
