Wantedly CEO Naka Akiko (仲暁子), who operates the job-search support site “Wantedly,” achieved a listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market within 7 years of founding and aims to build infrastructure centered on shared values, enabling everyone to immerse themselves in their work.
Wantedly has grown as a job-search support site connecting companies and individuals through “shared values,” and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market within 7 years of founding. CEO Naka Akiko (仲暁子) is pursuing the “ultimate fit between people and positions,” going beyond recruitment optimization, with the goal of creating an environment where everyone can immerse themselves in their work.
Naka Akiko (仲暁子) enjoyed making things from an early age and grew up experiencing the appeal of businesses that could generate substantial sums of money using only paper and a computer. After studying abroad in New Zealand, she entered the faculty of economics, launched a small business, and gained practical experience, including producing a free paper featuring course information that generated approximately ¥300,000 with its first issue.
After joining Goldman Sachs Securities, she saw respected employees leave as a result of the Lehman shock and left in just under 2 years. After abandoning her aspirations of becoming a manga artist, she had the opportunity to become involved in establishing Facebook’s Japanese subsidiary, which she had encountered in Japan, and learned about making products in the internet era and the potential of businesses that connect people.
Drawing on that experience and her involvement in establishing a Japanese subsidiary, she is driving Wantedly’s growth and expanding infrastructure for job-search support centered on shared values.
