What has DI's Technology & Amplify (T&A) seen as an organisation that turns concepts into “results”? Three years after its launch, Shimazaki Takashi (島崎 崇) and Yagi Keijiro (八木 慶二郎) discuss efforts to integrate business-led transformation design with execution in the field, and the rationale for operating around BXO and CMO rather than PMO.
Dream Incubator's (DI) Technology & Amplify (T&A) is an organisation that advances transformation as a single process from concept through implementation and embedding. Shimazaki Takashi (島崎 崇), Managing Executive Officer, and Yagi Keijiro (八木 慶二郎), Executive Officer, explained T&A's approach and current position, which prioritises business results rather than treating technology as an end in itself.
At the core of T&A are a thorough approach to BPR (business process re-engineering) and the organisation of workflows, roles and business models. Technology is described as a means of accelerating results, with effective use dependent on laying the groundwork properly. In addition to PMO, T&A has established BXO (Business Transformation Office) and CMO (Change Management Office) functions to drive organisational and operational transformation.
Three practices, “business-led,” “one stream” and “room to maneuver,” were introduced. The policy is to put the business divisions in the lead and design the optimal transformation in coordination with the IT division. The organisation emphasises avoiding a game of telephone, sharing responsibility and the ability to execute transformation, including the decision to stop initiatives.
Finally, the role of AI was redefined, and the reasons for focusing on 4 areas, BPR, BXO/CMO, SCM and AI, were presented. T&A aims to grow into an organisation linked to results by continuing to question the purpose of initiatives and removing the boundary between strategy and technology.
