OOTOYA began accepting advance reservations on 4 November for its winter lucky bag, the “Manpuku Bag.” Most stores have reached their reservation limits and sold out, and the bags include new items such as a Kyoto kata-yuzen bag.
OOTOYA has prepared its winter lucky bag, the “Manpuku Bag,” as an annual offering and has begun accepting advance reservations again this year. At present, many stores have reached their reservation limits and sold out. Stores that are sold out are hidden from the advance reservation page and will be displayed again if cancellations occur. The reservation period is from 4 November to 30 November, and the page also provides details on the in-store collection period and in-store sales dates.
The “Extra-Large Manpuku Bag,” this year's extra-large set, is priced at ¥5,000 (including tax) and includes original products and 18 “Manpukupon” coupons worth ¥5,400 in total. The contents include a five-grain rice mix, shiso hijiki, chewy five-grain rice, nori seaweed paste, a winter version of the dashi package, shichimi pepper and fresh nori seaweed paste, along with other items to add variety to everyday meals.
Advance reservations are open from 14:00 on 4 November 2026 through 23:59 on 30 November, and in-store sales will run from 28 December through 14 January of the following year. Bags reserved in advance can be collected in stores from 28 December through 7 January. Bags allocated for in-store sales will be sold at each store during the sales period, with inventory and schedules varying by store. Approximately 22,000 bags are available for advance reservation, and reservations will close when the allocation is reached.
New items include a kata-yuzen textile handbag and mittens created in collaboration with Kyoto kata-yuzen brand Keikororu. The handbag is sized for everyday use and has an interior pocket, while the mittens have a 2-way design and can also be used as pot holders.
