SBS Toshiba Logistics has launched an introduction page for global SCM optimization, which takes an integrated view of the process from procurement through sales by leveraging its expertise in manufacturers' logistics. It provides end-to-end support from assessing the current state through implementation and post-operational improvement.
SBS Toshiba Logistics (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) announced that it had launched an introduction page for Global Supply Chain Optimization, which designs global supply chains from the perspective of overall optimization. The page highlights its integrated support from design through implementation and improvement, combining logistics hubs, transportation, packaging, customs clearance and information sharing, while leveraging expertise developed through manufacturers' logistics operations.
The support process comprises 4 stages: assessing the current state, overall design, implementation at operating sites and post-operational improvement. Based on logistics data and actual conditions at operating sites, the company identifies issues and designs a logistics structure that takes into account product characteristics, production and delivery requirements, and operational constraints. The introduction page also features examples of this work.
Specific examples include reorganizing logistics hubs, building logistics structures covering overseas procurement through domestic sales, reviewing packaging and loading methods, and developing logistics information infrastructure.
