Syuppin operates specialty stores such as Map Camera for cameras and GMT, primarily through e-commerce, and has built a circular model by purchasing and refurbishing high-value goods. With Hitoshi Saito (齋藤仁志) becoming president in June 2026, the company is looking to expand overseas and capture regional growth potential.
Syuppin operates a specialty-store business focused on high-value-added goods, including Map Camera for cameras, GMT for watches and KINGDOM NOTE for writing instruments, selling new and used products online and purchasing used goods. Although the company also has physical stores, more than 80% of sales are generated through e-commerce transactions.
Unlike other specialty retailers, the company places online sales and purchasing at the center of its strategy. It explains that high-value-added goods are less likely to decline in price across borders and that each product carries the history of its users. It has adopted a circular business model that passes each product, together with its history, on to the next customer.
Hitoshi Saito (齋藤仁志) became Syuppin's representative director, president and CEO in June 2026. He is focusing on the watch business, overseas expansion and regional growth potential, with a view to broadening the company's profile.
