Bushiroad announced changes to its representative directors. Takaaki Kidani (木谷 高明) will become chairman with representative authority, while Nemoto Yuki (根本 雄貴) will be promoted to president. The changes are scheduled to take effect on 29 September.
On 28 July, Bushiroad announced that its founder, Takaaki Kidani (木谷 高明), will change from president to chairman with representative authority, while Nemoto Yuki (根本 雄貴) will become its new representative director and president. Nemoto (根本) has served as executive producer of the BanG Dream! project and head of the live entertainment unit, and is scheduled to take office on 29 September.
Kidani (木谷) explained that he decided to leave the presidency because of the need to adapt to the AI era. He said that while youth should be viewed as a competitive advantage, experience in the entertainment industry is also important, and indicated that the company would move forward with a clear division of responsibilities. He cited the use of tools such as Grok for work-related consultations and research as examples of how the company is using AI.
The new president, Nemoto (根本), is 32 years old and is being selected for the position in his 10th year with the company. Going forward, the company plans to review the division of responsibilities within the group, using the BanG Dream! business as a starting point. Kidani (木谷) will oversee TCG and new IP, while Nemoto (根本) will oversee publishing, media, live entertainment and digital content.
Kidani (木谷) plans to reduce his workload around 2029–2030. He anticipates reaching a point at which he can draw a line under his involvement with new IP, and said that TCG is currently difficult to hand over, meaning it cannot be transferred easily. Strengthening the company’s structure ahead of its 20th anniversary was cited as a future priority.
