Sugakiko Systems announced on 2 October that it had made Dom Dom Food Service a group company. In connection with the acquisition, it additionally acquired shares as of 30 September, raising its stake to 50% or more. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.
The relationship between the two companies had been close for some time. Sugakiki Systems had acquired a partial stake in Dom Dom in December 2025, and the latest capital integration formally brought the company into the group. Fujisaki Shinobu (藤﨑忍) will continue to lead the business.
The company is transitioning to a new structure as it marks its 80th anniversary since founding, and aims to become a 1,000-store chain from its current scale of approximately 300 stores. It also plans to re-enter the Kanto region for the first time in 20 years, with both brands scheduled to open stores together in the same commercial facility in spring 2027.
A visit to the Dom Dom store in Osu found limited-time items such as a Nagoya miso-flavored crab burger, while Dom Dom characters and merchandise stood out as features of the store.
