An executive at Dassault Systèmes discussed combining cyber defense in manufacturing with AI adoption, outlining a policy of combining the industrial AI system Industry World Models with AI-based design data. The executive is said to have presented a specific vision for using training and inference on a sovereign cloud platform on the premise of protecting intellectual property.
A policy was outlined that places emphasis on Industry World Models as AI specialized for manufacturing, with an explanation of how AI and the company's own simulation technology can be combined to validate component design proposals.
It has been pointed out that while Japanese companies are attempting to use general-purpose LLMs, some become cautious about adopting AI when those efforts fail to produce results. Dassault is said to be advocating the usefulness of industrial AI.
To address intellectual property protection challenges, a policy was outlined to establish an environment for running training and inference on OUTSCALE in collaboration with Mistral AI, processing data temporarily and avoiding permanent storage.
Ensuring transparency over where data is stored, who can access it and the processing infrastructure is considered an important prerequisite for using AI. The view was also expressed that Japan's long-standing culture of manufacturing and continuous improvement contributes to greater reliability.
