Suntory Beverage & Food President Kimura Josuke (木村穣介) reportedly shared the 3 phrases “Bold Ambition,” “Excellence in Execution” and “United To Win” with employees shortly after taking office, and said that profit is not the objective but what remains as a result of the business.
Suntory Beverage & Food President Kimura Josuke (木村穣介), who took office at the end of March 2026, shared 3 phrases with employees in Japan and overseas shortly after his appointment. His emphasis on “Bold Ambition,” “Excellence in Execution” and “United To Win” has attracted attention.
In an interview in June of the same year, Kimura Josuke (木村穣介) first indicated the importance he places on having high aspirations, and said that profit is not the true objective but what remains as a result of business activities. While acknowledging that profit is important, he made clear that he does not regard it as the objective itself.
Kimura Josuke (木村穣介) explained his policy of maintaining membership-based employment rather than adopting job-based employment, which is considered a global trend. He said the company emphasizes developing individuals’ strengths and that expertise can be built by studying areas such as marketing and product development for around six months “as if their lives depended on it.”
Kimura Josuke (木村穣介) said the type of talent he envisions is similar to the modern management of Japan’s national football team, indicating his aim of creating an organization in which people who have developed their capabilities step forward as circumstances require. He emphasized the importance of talent mobility and learning opportunities in raising overall performance.
