Taiyo Yuden raised its full-year earnings forecast, but buying interest is expected to remain limited despite expanding demand for AI servers.
Taiyo Yuden announced its results for the six months ended September in the fiscal year ending March 2027, raising its full-year sales forecast from ¥424.0 billion to ¥436.0 billion. Sales are expected to rise 22.7% year on year, while operating profit was raised from ¥45.0 billion to ¥54.0 billion, representing growth of 2.7 times year on year.
The company cited expanding demand for high-value-added products for AI servers and strong demand for information equipment, including memory modules. It plans to revise prices in the second half, mainly for items affected by surging raw material costs.
Sales for the six months ended September were ¥206.034 billion and operating profit was ¥18.196 billion. Orders for its core capacitor business totaled ¥152.4 billion, up 28% from the previous quarter. Against this backdrop, reports point to expanding demand alongside the revision to the full-year outlook.
