DXYZ, a subsidiary of ミガロホールディングス, has completely revamped the smartphone app for its FreeiD facial recognition ID platform, enabling membership registration to be completed entirely within the app. The update adds automatic facial photo checks, a refreshed design, biometric login support on Android, and other features.
FreeiD is a facial recognition ID platform designed for use in apartment buildings, offices, stores and other settings. The latest overhaul refreshes the app's underlying platform and creates an environment in which even first-time users can complete the registration process smoothly. The app currently has approximately 55,000 active users, and the website was also revamped in October 2026 under a new tagline.
Key changes include streamlining the registration process by eliminating phone-number entry and SMS verification, as well as enabling users to complete facial photo capture using the camera within the app. A dedicated screen indicating that registration is complete has also been added, making it easier to confirm that the process has finished.
A new automatic check during photo capture prevents registration from proceeding when the face is not correctly captured, and also rejects images containing multiple people. The screen design and navigation have been streamlined, a text-size setting feature has been added, and biometric login is now supported on Android, improving ease of use.
The app is available for iOS and Android, and its launch date is 24 September 2026. Under the tagline “My places expand throughout the city,” FreeiD also offers solutions for apartment buildings that aim to enable keyless access from shared areas such as entrances and elevators through to individual units.
