NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and IBM Japan have entered into a basic agreement to collaborate in the field of AI governance and will consider a management and audit platform for AI agents. Based on monitoring usage and ensuring legal compliance, they will consider the architecture and use cases, with a view to future commercialization.
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and IBM Japan announced that they had entered into a basic agreement concerning collaboration in the field of AI governance.
The companies said they would consider developing a mechanism that enables businesses to determine when and how AI agents are being used and to continuously manage and audit their use in line with laws and internal regulations. As the use of generative AI expands, controlling usage, responding to regulations, and addressing erroneous decisions and information leaks are regarded as challenges.
The companies said they aim to develop a mechanism that can explain the basis for AI decisions, manage who can use what and to what extent, and allow usage to be reviewed and audited afterward. DOCOMO BUSINESS will provide technologies in data security and digital identity, while IBM will contribute expertise in AI governance, AI security and risk management.
Under the collaboration, the companies will combine their technologies and expertise to consider architectures and use cases for implementing AI governance, and will organize control and management requirements for the introduction and implementation of generative AI and the improvement of operational efficiency through AI agents. They will also consider delivery models and an operating structure with a view to future commercialization and commercial rollout.
