Starzen disclosed its earnings report for Q1 of the fiscal year ending March 2027, reporting record highs in net sales and every profit measure, and revised its dividend forecast upward to an annual ¥52, with a DOE of 3.0% expected.
Driven by strong performance in processed foods and imported meat, consolidated net sales reached ¥119.14 billion, gross profit ¥11.86 billion, operating profit ¥2.65 billion, ordinary profit ¥3.79 billion and quarterly net income ¥2.61 billion, all record highs. The company secured higher profits as the increase in gross profit outpaced the rise in selling, general and administrative expenses.
In line with its medium-term management plan, the company revised its dividend forecast upward, increasing both the interim and year-end dividends by ¥1 to achieve an annual dividend of ¥52 and a DOE of 3.0%. The company will also continue to acquire its own shares, with an acquisition limit of 1.5 million shares or ¥1.5 billion.
Key developments include strengthening the capacity of the processed foods business group following the acquisition of Osabe Foods as a subsidiary in April, and a fundamental reform of the group’s logistics operations following the launch of the Higashi-Ogijima Center in August.
Going forward, attention will focus on the company’s progress for the full year, which is ahead of the five-year average, as well as growth driven by the establishment of new logistics centers and M&A.
