Gakken Cocofump, a Gakken Holdings group company, held the 13th Care Quality Improvement Conference at its head office building on 17 September 2026. The conference featured presentations on 6 case studies selected from regional blocks across Japan, along with a panel discussion on support that enables residents to continue living in their communities. The top 3 case studies were selected and recognized by vote.
The conference was held to improve the quality of care and develop human resources at Gakken Group’s elderly care facilities. It also includes initiatives to recognize achievements that are difficult to quantify. Held once a year, this was the 13th conference.
The 6 case studies covered a wide range of topics, including community-based integrated care, operational improvements and services that leverage the strengths of multidisciplinary collaboration. Practical examples of support enabling residents to continue living in their communities were also presented.
Awards were determined by votes from attendees at the venue and online participants. Cocofump Owari-Ichinomiya was selected for 1st place, Cocofump Fukuoka Kiyokawa for 2nd place and Cocofump Shizuoka Oiwa for 3rd place. The case studies were presented as specific examples of community-based support, including efforts to improve residents’ quality of life, create opportunities to go out, and provide end-of-life care and final farewells.
The list of case studies included Cocofump Motoimaizumi, Cocofump Inadazutsumi, Grand Maison Rondo-kan Kyoto Habukash, Cocofump Owari-Ichinomiya, Cocofump Fukuoka Kiyokawa and Cocofump Shizuoka Oiwa. The titles and key points of each case study were also provided.
The conference is expected to support continued efforts to enhance assistance for living in familiar communities and improve care quality.
