Sankyo Tateyama, based in Toyama Prefecture, revealed plans to establish new bases in Vietnam and Thailand as part of its strategy to capture demand in Asia. The move will strengthen its business operations in the Asian market.
Yasuyuki Kurohata (黒畑靖之) became the new president on 27 August and presented the business policies of the new medium-term management plan at a press conference on 10 September. The new plan begins with the fiscal year ending May 2028.
Sankyo Tateyama’s consolidated results for the fiscal year ended May 2026 were reportedly in the red, with factors such as a decline in housing starts and higher prices for aluminum ingots weighing on its core building-materials business.
Going forward, the company aims to rebuild its earnings structure by narrowing the product lineup of its core building-materials business under a policy centered on capturing demand in the Asian market.
