Arthur D. Little Japan said at an event to be held on 1 October 2026 that developing inference infrastructure will be key to Japanese companies' competitive advantage. It will present specific policies concerning strategies for achieving sovereign AI and changes in the inference infrastructure landscape.
AI competition to date has centered on training with large datasets, but the spread of generative AI has increased the importance of inference, which runs completed AI systems in actual business operations. Competition is intensifying across the entire infrastructure needed to run AI, including AI semiconductors, data centers, cloud services, and memory.
Major countries are advancing sovereign AI initiatives to secure AI infrastructure domestically. In Japan, support for developing domestic computing resources and homegrown AI foundation models is also gathering momentum. The presentation will analyze the areas in which Japanese companies should build competitive advantages in light of these developments.
Presenters from ADL will analyze structural changes in the AI inference market and the strategies of major players, and offer recommendations from five perspectives on the AI fields Japan should strengthen and the direction of its strategy. The seminar information includes the date, venue, cost, and cooperating organizations.
