More than 100 moth orchid pots received for the relocation of Resorttrust's Nagoya headquarters will be reused through resource circulation. The company distributed some to employees and carried out collection and recycling in partnership with a Type B Continuous Employment Support Facility.
Moth orchids presented to companies during relocations may be dismantled, sorted and discarded after being enjoyed. To reduce its environmental impact and contribute to local welfare, Resorttrust introduced this resource-circulation scheme.
The initiative takes 2 approaches. First, moth orchids are given to employees who request them so they can continue growing them at home. Second, Resorttrust works with Donguri no Ie, a Type B Continuous Employment Support Facility in Nagoya, using the "Relant" system to handle everything from collection through recycling.
After sorting, the pots are donated to welfare facilities, the stakes are recycled as iron resources, and the plants are professionally tended before becoming "sustainable flowers" available for resale. This is expected to create employment opportunities for workers and increase their wages.
The initiative began with the relocation of the Nagoya headquarters. An overview of the moth orchid recycling service "Relant," its collaborative partners, and Resorttrust's corporate profile are also introduced.
