イクヨ is buying up shares in 河西工業 and is also set to become ムラキ's largest shareholder, expanding its acquisitions and capital ties. Sales are expected to increase approximately 1.7-fold year on year in the fiscal year ending March 2026, as the company expands into areas outside auto parts, including cryptocurrencies and hydrogen-related businesses.
Founded in 1947, イクヨ has long supplied resin exterior and interior parts as an auto-parts manufacturer. In recent years, it has pursued sales growth by making companies consolidated subsidiaries, and sales for the fiscal year ending March 2026 are expected to increase approximately 1.7-fold year on year, according to its earnings digest. The main driver of the increase is the addition of a Chinese parts company as a subsidiary.
イクヨ is also buying up shares in 河西工業 and strengthening capital ties within the group through its stake in the company. It has also become the largest shareholder of ムラキ, a car-care products wholesaler, accelerating its acquisition activity and moves in the capital markets.
At the same time, it is entering areas beyond the auto-parts business, including cryptocurrency mining, stablecoin payments, hydrogen-powered bicycles, AI data centers and EV buses, presenting a picture that combines strong growth with uncertainty.
Meanwhile, the domestic parts business has been unable to fully pass higher raw-material and labor costs on to prices, placing pressure on profits. Funding for the expansion depends on proceeds from land sales and the exercise of subscription rights, rather than being financed solely by cash flow from the core business. A dispute concerning joint concerted action with ムラキ has also come to light.
