SBI Shinsei Bank,Limited launched its smartphone ATM service on 27 August 2026. Customers can now deposit and withdraw cash using only a smartphone at Seven Bank ATMs and Lawson Bank ATMs nationwide. The service handles banknotes only and does not accept coins. Customers must use the latest version of the app and register for smartphone authentication, and the service may be temporarily unavailable depending on the ATM’s operating hours or maintenance status. Transactions are conducted at the ATM using a QR code.
Under the fee terms, cash withdrawals are free with no transaction limit for the Silver tier and above, while Standard members receive 5 free withdrawals per month and pay ¥110 (including tax) from the sixth withdrawal onward. Deposits are free, accommodating smaller deposit needs as well. The bank highlighted that transactions can be completed without carrying a cash card. To use the service, customers select smartphone ATM in the app, select smartphone transaction at the ATM, and scan the displayed QR code with the app.
The service is positioned as an initiative to improve the convenience of self-service ATMs and expand the options for cash transactions by smartphone. Use requires the app and a QR code, and the number of free transactions depends on the customer’s tier.
