Monstar Lab CEO Inagawa Hiroki (鮄川 宏樹) spoke at the Reconstruction, Business and Investment Forum hosted by the UNDP and held at United Nations University. The event took place on 8 September 2026, and he spoke during a session of the Palestine-Japan Business Forum.
The forum discussed the role of business in the reconstruction of countries and regions affected by crises, as well as the potential for investment and public-private partnerships. Monstar Lab’s mission is to contribute to society through diversity and technology, and the company has previously expanded initiatives to employ refugees.
In his presentation, Inagawa Hiroki (鮄川 宏樹) described the situation in which local talent and educational infrastructure exist but employment opportunities remain limited. He outlined how the company worked with existing training institutions to provide talent in Palestine’s Gaza Strip with real-world software development projects and employment opportunities. He also highlighted the potential of local entrepreneurs and indicated the importance of Japan and the international community providing support through funding, technology, markets and networks.
Monstar Lab explained its initiatives supporting talent development and job creation in Palestine’s Gaza Strip from the perspective of sustainability. Past initiatives included support for displaced people from Ukraine and support in Bangladesh. From 2018 to 2019, the company examined and tested an employment model in Gaza, conducted a pilot involving real-world projects in 2021, and began employment in 2022. The initiative was subsequently suspended because of the conflict in the region, and the engineers evacuated to Egypt. The company also stated that it is considering the possibility of resuming the initiative in the future.
