ユタカフーズ revised its current fiscal year ordinary profit forecast downward from a profit to a loss. It also substantially cut its April–September interim forecast, with the full year now expected to end in a loss.
ユタカフーズ announced an earnings forecast revision after the market close on 2 November 2026, revising ordinary profit/loss for the fiscal year ending March 2027 (non-consolidated) downward from the previous forecast of a ¥111 million profit to a ¥177 million loss. The previous fiscal year was profitable, but the company now expects to turn to a loss.
At the same time, interim ordinary profit was cut from the previous forecast of ¥130 million to a ¥24 million loss, representing a substantial decline from the profit of more than ¥60 million recorded in the same period of the previous year.
The company explained that the main factors were surging raw material prices, primarily naphtha-based, due to the prolonged Middle East situation, and the yen’s depreciation, which pushed production costs above expectations. As a result, both the full-year and interim outlooks are expected to fall below the previous forecasts.
The company plans to improve profitability through cost reductions and revisions to selling prices, but the final results remain uncertain in light of the impact of the second-quarter revision and the outlook for continued increases in raw material prices.
