Takara Tomy will launch the Parking Tray 10, a parking-lot-style tray designed exclusively for Tomica. The product can store and display up to 10 toy cars and will have a suggested retail price of ¥990.
More than 50% of the plastic used in the tray is recycled plastic, highlighting its environmental considerations. In addition, it has obtained Eco Mark certification from the Japan Environment Association for the first time in 12 years.
The product has also been certified as eligible to carry the Guide Dog Mark at the same time as obtaining Eco Mark certification. The company says this is the first simultaneous certification of its kind in the toy industry.
The trays can be connected vertically and horizontally for use as a multi-level parking garage. To allow children to play regardless of whether they have a disability, the parking spaces feature dividers and raised-number markings.
