An event featuring a Hachioji kuruma ningyo performance and a special autumn course meal will be held for 3 days from 21 to 23 October 2026 at Ukai Toriyama, a historic gassho-style venue in Hachioji. Applications are accepted through 18 October.
A limited event will be held at Ukai Toriyama, a gassho-style venue in Hachioji, combining a performance of Hachioji kuruma ningyo, designated a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, with a special autumn menu available only on the evening.
The event is structured around viewing the kuruma ningyo up close in a historic building, followed by an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the evening garden and dishes made with seasonal ingredients.
The menu will be a special course offered for 3 days only, designed to bring out the natural flavours of the ingredients, with additional staging to enhance the aftertaste.
Applications will be accepted through 18 October 2026. The event will be held from Wednesday, 21 October to Friday, 23 October 2026.
