Taiyo Yuden announced that it had signed a basic agreement with TDK on their business partnership. The agreement was dated 29 September 2026 and was signed on that date following approval by the board of directors.
The partnership is focused on establishing a comprehensive cooperation framework centered on the joint development of electronic components, including MLCCs and inductors, together with collaboration in manufacturing and procurement. The companies aim to respond rapidly to demand for products for AI data centers and physical AI.
The companies said they would develop high-value-added components to meet expanding demand, with the aim of ensuring a stable supply of advanced electronic components and strengthening competitiveness. They also intend to contribute to strengthening Japan's industrial base and making supply chains more resilient.
In relation to the Economic Security Promotion Act, the companies will also consider preparing a joint supply assurance plan covering the stable supply of MLCCs and other products, as well as filing a joint application with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
