House Foods Group Inc. announced plans to merge with its core subsidiaries and transition to an operating holding company structure around October 2027. The review of a possible sale of Ichibanya, which operates curry restaurants, was not addressed as part of this restructuring, while the reorganisation of House Wellness Foods and House Gaban will be carried out from 2028 onward.
House Foods Group Inc. announced on the 5th that it would merge with its core subsidiary House Foods and House Wellness Foods, which operates businesses including beverages. The stated objectives are to accelerate decision-making and improve management efficiency.
The group plans to transition to an operating holding company structure around October 2027. House Gaban, which manufactures spices, will undergo an absorption-type company split while retaining its production functions. The reorganisation of House Wellness Foods and House Gaban is scheduled to take place from October 2028 onward.
The sale of the subsidiary that operates Ichibanya (Curry House CoCo Ichibanya) is under consideration, but is not included in the current organisational restructuring. Following delays to the medium-term plan for the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company said it would pursue structural reforms and concentrate resources on the spice business, a growth area.
Overall, the group aims to integrate its core businesses, pursue its global growth strategy on an integrated basis, improve management efficiency and accelerate decision-making.
