Kirin Brewery announced that it will relaunch its zero-purine, zero-carbohydrate low-malt beer Tanrei Platinum Double for the first time in 3 years, refreshing the formulation and packaging and beginning a phased nationwide switchover with products manufactured in mid-November. The packaging will be redesigned so that the “zero purines and zero carbohydrates” features are immediately clear.
The formulation has been revised by reviewing the ingredient mix, enhancing the crisp finish and malt flavor associated with Tanrei to create a beer-like taste.
The packaging has evolved into a modern design that emphasizes Tanrei’s characteristic crisp finish. The numerical product claims have also been rearranged for greater clarity and visibility.
Against a backdrop of growing health consciousness, the market for low- and zero-alcohol beer products continues to expand. Tanrei Platinum Double has performed well, with cumulative sales volume for January–September 2026 exceeding the year-earlier level. The product is expected to contribute to further market growth.
