Garmin will launch all 22 models in the fēnix 9 series in Japan on 10 September. The Pro uses the series' first titanium case and features a 1.5-inch AMOLED display, while details of the Japan-specific models, including Suica support and built-in detailed maps of Japan, have also been disclosed.
Garmin Japan announced all 22 models in the fēnix 9 series on 26 August 2026, with pre-orders opening on 3 September and sales beginning on 10 September. The Japan-specific features explicitly disclosed include Suica support and built-in detailed maps of Japan.
The fēnix 9 Pro's adoption of the series' first titanium case is its most notable feature. Some models, including the Pro inReach, also feature an AMOLED display and Dual Power (solar). The watches come in three size configurations: 51mm, 47mm and 43mm, although not every size is available across all variants.
Prices range from ¥148,000 to ¥238,000, varying by model, band and finish. The most affordable models are the 43mm and 47mm fēnix 9 Sapphire AMOLED, priced at approximately ¥148,000–¥178,000.
New features for the Japan models include Suica-compatible cashless payments and detailed maps of Japan. The watches also include maps for more than 43,000 golf courses worldwide and more than 2,000 ski areas.
inReach supports satellite communications in addition to LTE, but satellite communications are scheduled to become available in autumn 2026 and will not be available as of the 10 September launch date. A separate subscription is required, with the service priced at ¥1,180 per month under the INREACH ENABLED PLAN.
Other new features introduced include Garmin Epic, stamina zones, pace guidance that accounts for gradient, a map engine with upgraded RAM, 64GB of built-in memory, voice control via OK Garmin, and a green LED flashlight.
