PRONTO strengthened its stores’ dual-format model in 2021 by converting them to the neo-mass-market izakaya format “Kissakaba.” Revenue came in at approximately ¥27.4 billion in 2025, with 134 of its 180 stores operating as Kissakaba locations. The new format “PRONTO THE FIRST” also launched at the end of 2025.
PRONTO Corporation has maintained its dual-format model of operating as a café by day and a bar by night since its founding, and rebranded its stores as the neo-mass-market izakaya format “Kissakaba” in April 2021. As store closures increased and losses deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kissakaba was positioned as a strategy to reverse the company’s fortunes.
2025 revenue came in at approximately ¥27.4 billion, substantially exceeding the plan. Of the company’s 180 stores, 134 operate as Kissakaba locations, while the remaining 46 continue to operate mainly as conventional cafés and bars. The new format “PRONTO THE FIRST” was also launched in December 2025.
The two-format day-and-night operating model has continued since the opening of the first store in Ginza, with locations switching from a self-service café during the day to a full-service bar at night as the store network expanded. The current business structure is becoming increasingly weighted toward Kissakaba.
