A Japanese investment group is reportedly considering a tender offer to acquire 25–50% of the shares of K-pop major JYP Entertainment. The acquisition is expected to exceed the stake held by the founder’s family.
YTN reported that NEXROC Group and SVCV explained in a press release that they were considering the procedures for launching the tender offer, targeting 20 November. The specific acquisition ratio, minimum conditions and method for calculating the offer price are expected to be announced later.
The group plans to submit a private letter of intent to acquire shares to JYP before the tender offer and establish a 30-day negotiation period. If the negotiations do not result in an agreement, an additional announcement is planned.
NEXROC and its holding company, SVCV, reportedly aim to build a transmedia platform in Asia’s culture and entertainment sectors.
