Kawasaki Kisen announced its consolidated results for April–September. Revenue exceeded ¥602 billion, operating profit exceeded ¥51.2 billion, ordinary profit exceeded ¥118.3 billion and net income exceeded ¥124.5 billion, resulting in substantial increases in both revenue and profit.
At its earnings briefing, Kawasaki Kisen announced that its consolidated results for April–September included revenue of ¥602.02 billion, operating profit of ¥51.225 billion, ordinary profit of ¥118.398 billion and interim net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥124.517 billion.
Equity-method investment income of ¥70.2 billion contributed to the substantial increase in profit, including ¥65.7 billion in investment income from ONE. The yen traded at ¥160.47 to the US dollar and fuel oil prices rose to $788 per tonne, but the company worked to reduce operating costs and improve vessel deployment efficiency.
Demand for container shipping to North America was strong, while short-term freight rate increases resulting from port congestion and longer voyages provided a tailwind. By segment, dry bulk and finished-product logistics performed steadily, while energy resources posted higher revenue but lower profit.
For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company expects full-year revenue of ¥1.17 trillion, operating profit of ¥91 billion, ordinary profit of ¥190 billion and net income of ¥190 billion.
