Against a backdrop of rising global power demand, Meidensha Corporation outlined a policy to double sales by 2040 as part of its long-term vision. Specifically, the company plans to strengthen sales of transformers, circuit breakers and other products, while also anticipating growth in its semiconductor-related business in response to the spread of AI and the accelerating construction of data centers. In addition to equipment sales, the company will develop solution-based businesses that include operations and maintenance.
In light of urbanization in emerging markets and growing demand for advanced technologies, the company plans to designate emerging markets, including India, as well as Europe and North America, as priority regions. In addition to growing demand for power equipment, it aims to capture demand for infrastructure upgrades, including water and sewage systems, and increase capital investment.
Financially, sales for FY2026 are expected to be approximately ¥365 billion. The company will invest in equipment at its Numazu mother plant in FY2028 to raise transformer production capacity to 1.5 times the previous level. This will strengthen its production structure and supply capacity toward realizing the long-term vision.
President Inoue emphasized the prioritization of resources, citing R&D, strengthening the talent base and business model transformation driven by data utilization. The company aims to expand its solutions business, centered on power infrastructure, to address increasing data processing volumes and reduce environmental impact.
