Hitachi Solutions East Japan has launched the Incident Detection Service powered by Meltwater, which monitors publicly available information from social media and news around the clock to detect business risks at an early stage. Using Meltwater Explore, the service supports initial response through near-real-time notifications.
Hitachi Solutions East Japan will begin providing the Incident Detection Service powered by Meltwater on 5 October 2026 to detect early signs of incidents that could affect corporate activities. The service covers publicly available information from social media and news sites, with the aim of supporting a rapid initial response.
The service uses the Meltwater Explore social listening platform provided by collaboration partner Meltwater to monitor news sites and social media worldwide 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Posts and articles matching preset criteria are detected on a near-real-time basis, with immediate alerts sent to Teams and email.
Hitachi Solutions East Japan will support the design of monitoring systems tailored to each customer's business characteristics. Within approximately 1–2 months, it will design and adjust search criteria covering not only company and product names but also affiliated companies, business partners, geographic names, accidents, disasters and related terms. If changes or delays occur in the volume of information collected, the service will detect the anomaly and make contact, while also supporting reviews of the criteria and notification settings.
Potential use cases include monitoring product defects and reputational information, tracking accident information involving key business partners and related industries, and detecting supply chain risks at an early stage. Individual consultations and evaluation support will be provided to customers considering implementation.
