Do Van Khac (ド・ヴァン・カック), president of FPTジャパンホールディングス, the Japanese subsidiary of Vietnam's leading systems integrator FPT, discussed plans to accelerate growth in the Japanese market by increasing the focus on upstream processes, as well as the outlook for stimulating new demand for bespoke systems integration through productivity gains from AI. The Japanese entity's three-year target is annual sales of approximately ¥160 billion.
Since becoming president in 2022, FPTジャパンホールディングス' sales have grown approximately fourfold, while its employee count has roughly doubled to approximately 5,000. The consolidated sales of its Vietnamese headquarters for the fiscal year ended December 2025 reached approximately ¥214.4 billion, with Japan accounting for 44.8% of sales, underscoring the growing importance of the Japanese market.
The company has accelerated sales growth in the Japanese market by increasing the proportion of upstream processes, such as requirements definition and design, capitalizing on the fact that upstream processes command higher unit prices than downstream processes. It has also expanded its nationwide network, establishing 17 locations from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Okinawa, Fukuoka and Sapporo are being used as nearshore locations.
The company is deepening its collaborative relationships by pursuing comprehensive business alliances and joint ventures with major Japanese systems integrators. It plans to establish the Upstride joint venture with CAC Holdings in April 2026 and launched the COBOL PARK joint venture with SCSK in December 2025. Collaboration with Konica Minolta and OKI is also under way, as the company strengthens cooperation with partners in Japan and overseas.
The company expects AI adoption to improve development productivity, with shorter delivery times and lower costs stimulating new demand for bespoke systems integration. As part of its DNA, it has developed a five-stage maturity model ranging from "exploration" to "native implementation" and prepared training programs for all employees. Going forward, it plans to dramatically increase productivity in coordination with its Vietnamese locations by automating AI agents and redesigning the organization as a whole.
The Japanese entity's three-year performance target is to increase annual sales from the current level of approximately ¥100 billion to ¥160 billion. The company aims to grow through expanding demand for AI transformation and stronger collaboration in the ASEAN market.
