Goodpatch has made Band a subsidiary, strengthening its AI-driven development capabilities across the board. A new structure is being launched to provide integrated services spanning design, implementation and operations, as well as support for bringing development in-house.
Goodpatch announced on 2 September 2026 that it had made Band, a software development company, a subsidiary. The acquisition will expand Goodpatch’s capabilities to provide integrated services ranging from the design, implementation and operation of AI-first product development through to support for companies bringing development in-house. This will further strengthen coordination between AI-driven design and development.
Band provides e-commerce development and digital marketing support using Shopify, and has strengths in advanced development processes that make use of AI agents. Band Representative Director Kawai Kohei (河合 航平) has pursued AI-native development methods, while Goodpatch President Tsuchiya Naofumi (土屋 尚史) focused on those methods, leading to the agreement.
The integration is expected to further strengthen the technically complex implementation capabilities of Goodpatch’s “AI-Driven Design & Development Solution,” which it has offered since July 2026, as well as its support for building development environments that enable client companies to operate independently.
Going forward, Goodpatch plans to combine Band’s execution capabilities with its own design expertise to accelerate product development that continues to be chosen by users. The initiative to integrate design and engineering at an advanced level through AI is described as a step toward redefining the competitiveness of Japanese companies.
