As part of its own seminar series, a small-group seminar for business executives was held with Yusuke Inagaki (稲垣 裕介) of Uzabase as the guest speaker. Inagaki (稲垣 裕介) appeared as a guest at the venue, and details of the event and information on future sessions were published.
The speaker’s profile introduced Uzabase’s businesses, including Speeda and NewsPicks, as well as its listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in 2016, when its market capitalisation expanded to approximately ¥163.4 billion at its peak. It also touched on the company’s history from listing through a TOB to going private, and its policy of integrating the Speeda brand with an eye to the generative AI era.
The discussion addressed specific topics including the behind-the-scenes story of how the business was launched, the reasons for choosing an IPO, the reasons for withdrawing from the acquisition of Quartz, the impact of going private on employees and corporate culture, and changes in market capitalisation and the valuation of the IPO. Participants responded positively.
Information was provided on applications for seminars scheduled for 9, 16, 19 and 22 October, each featuring the president of a different company as a guest. Links to the application form and the names of the host companies were also provided.
