ドーナッツロボティクス and チャーム・ケア・コーポレーション have entered into a capital and business alliance, aiming to build a new caregiving operating model that brings the use of humanoid robots into practice at caregiving facilities. Pilot introduction will begin in summer 2026, with plans to eventually roll out operational support functions including nurse-call response.
ドーナッツロボティクス has entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with チャーム・ケア・コーポレーション and announced plans to jointly advance the implementation of physical AI and robotics technology in caregiving settings and develop a new caregiving model.
In response to the social challenge of a shortage of caregiving personnel, the companies will work to maintain and improve the quality of care through the use of AI and robotics. チャーム・ケア・コーポレーション has a track record in operating caregiving facilities and introducing ICT and DX technologies, and the 2 companies aim to jointly build a new operating model.
The companies envisage a future model of caregiving based on collaboration between caregiving staff and humanoid robots. From July 2026, the humanoid robot “cinnamon” is being piloted at fee-based homes for the elderly operated by チャーム・ケア・コーポレーション, with plans to gradually expand its use to on-site operations, including nurse-call response.
As part of the capital and business alliance, チャーム・ケア・コーポレーション will subscribe for common shares of ドーナッツロボティクス for ¥300 million, with the aim of building a medium- to long-term joint business that goes beyond short-term implementation. The companies plan to hold an event at the end of 2026 to announce their roadmap and proprietary technologies.
