Serverworks published a case study on its support for Kajima Corporation in building a company-wide shared cloud platform. Using the Cloud Sherpa cloud-management service, Kajima established an operating structure that balances governance and flexibility and developed an integrated multi-account management platform. Support began in June 2025, and formal operations went into full swing in April 2026.
Serverworks provided Kajima Corporation with a hands-on solution using the Cloud Sherpa cloud-management service to support the construction of a company-wide shared cloud platform. It provided end-to-end support, from developing AWS usage guidelines and building an integrated multi-account management platform to transferring technology to bring operations in-house. Full-scale operations began in April 2026.
Against the background to the implementation, Kajima decided to renew its AWS environment in response to growing demand for the use of AI and data and for cloud-native technologies. Hands-on support began in June 2025, and work proceeded on developing a company-wide shared platform.
The customer’s challenges included the difficulty of managing costs by department, the difficulty of bringing partner-dependent operations under its own leadership, and limited service choices due to stringent security standards. In response, the companies developed an integrated multi-account management platform, established an autonomous cloud-operations structure, and put AWS usage guidelines and guardrails in place.
As a result of the implementation, Kajima achieved department-level cost management and visibility into usage, and operations shifted to an autonomous model led by Kajima. Approximately 30 AWS services became available to balance governance with broader utilization. Kajima has indicated that it will continue to receive hands-on support.
