The Hitachi Construction Machinery Festival in Hitachinaka, an event opening Hitachi Construction Machinery's plant to the public, will be held at the Hitachinaka Rinko Works in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture. This will be the first public opening in 8 years, allowing visitors to view construction machinery inside the normally restricted plant at close range.
The main attraction is a ride experience on the 50-ton-class ZX490 hydraulic excavator, where visitors can sit in the operator's seat and experience its size. The venue will also feature displays of machinery such as the ZX1800 and ZX500LCK-6, as well as a demonstration of the dual-arm “ASTACO” machine.
Children's attractions, including a super-ball scooping game using a mini excavator, character shows and a prize draw offering valuable prizes are also planned. Advance registration is required, and free shuttle buses are scheduled to run from the temporary parking area to the venue and from JR Katsuta Station.
