STIHL announced its new ALLPRO battery platform and introduced the professional-grade MSA 260 C-O battery chainsaw. Former Japan international Kensuke Hatakeyama (畠山 健介) took part in the demonstration, and the company's products have also been used at disaster-recovery sites following the Kumamoto earthquake. Sales in Japan are scheduled to begin in early November.
STIHL, a major power-tool manufacturer specialising in chainsaws and other equipment, held an event in Tokyo to announce its new ALLPRO battery platform and related products in celebration of its 100th anniversary. In Japan, the platform is positioned around a range of professional battery products, and the company explained that they are designed to improve productivity, durability and operational efficiency in the field.
The professional ALLPRO battery series unveiled at the event and the MSA 260 C-O professional battery chainsaw introduced at the same time are scheduled to launch in Japan in early November. Kensuke Hatakeyama (畠山 健介) appeared in the demonstration and cut timber using the MSA 260 C-O.
Hatakeyama said that power and light weight were the product's defining features, and praised its advances over the previous model. President Kentaro Nakayama (中山 健太郎) described the products' record of use at disaster-relief sites and disclosed that battery products had been provided through volunteers and local governments following the Kumamoto earthquake. He said equipment suitable for demolition work and processing fallen trees had proved valuable at the sites.
STIHL emphasised that its products are widely used at disaster-recovery sites and indicated that it will continue expanding its lineup to meet field requirements.
