UEX surged in the afternoon session to hit a new year-to-date high. The company was reported to have revised its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 this afternoon.
Under the new full-year outlook, net sales have been raised to ¥55–60 billion and operating profit to ¥2.9–3.4 billion. Compared with the previous fiscal year, net sales are expected to increase by approximately 10.6–20.7%, while operating profit is expected to be 2.2–2.6 times higher.
Expectations of higher prices ahead emerged during the six months ended September, prompting a surge in demand ahead of price increases. In addition to revising selling prices to reflect higher purchase prices, sales volumes exceeded the plan as demand related to semiconductors recovered. For the full year, the company expects temporary demand to subside, while demand related to semiconductors, shipbuilding and infrastructure is expected to remain strong.
Buying based on an assessment of business conditions is reportedly flowing into the stock on these factors.
