The products are the Carol Passion mini tomato and Flower Paint Seed Dango Mix (spring sowing), with orders scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 and shipping scheduled for spring 2027.
Sakata Seed has created new packages featuring the grand prize-winning designs from the Seed Packet Design Contest and will sell them to commemorate GREEN×EXPO 2027. The contest was open to students in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the judging selected 2 grand prize-winning designs and 3 excellence award-winning designs.
The seeds being launched are the Carol Passion mini tomato and Flower Paint Seed Dango Mix (spring sowing). They will be sold through the company's mail-order channels, including its online shop, as limited products for spring 2027, with sales ending when inventory runs out. Orders will begin in mid-November 2026, and shipments will be made sequentially from late December 2026.
The grand prize-winning Carol Passion design is a friendly illustration of ripe tomatoes and children watering the plants. The Flower Paint Seed Dango Mix design depicts a person holding seed balls and a landscape filled with flowers, expressing the connections between people through seeds. Each design will be sold together with an accompanying explanation of the design.
