Goldwin Inc. has launched Circular Action, a circular project aimed at zero waste from used apparel. Uniforms worn by Japan’s moguls team will be upcycled and sales will begin on 15 October.
Goldwin Inc., a sports and outdoor brand, has launched Circular Action, a new sustainability initiative designed to combine zero waste with resource circulation. As its first project, the company announced that uniforms worn by Japan’s moguls team in competitions and training will be collected and transformed into upcycled products. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ski and Snowboard Association of Japan.
For the first project, approximately 20 uniforms worn by moguls athletes were collected and transformed into 7 types of upcycled products, including tote bags and sacoche bags. Sales will take place at the GRAVITY KANDA store in Kanda, Tokyo, through 25 October, with prices ranging from ¥4,950 to ¥24,200, including tax. Every item has a one-of-a-kind design, and the products are designed to make maximum use of the garments, components and hoods.
A DPP (digital product passport) has been introduced. Scanning the QR code on the product tag provides access to information about the product before upcycling, the athlete who wore it, CO2 emissions and care instructions. The initiative is also being developed for the European market, with plans to expand eligibility beyond the moguls team and eventually to products owned by general customers.
