Ad-Sol Nissin Corporation won an order to support the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience's disaster information delivery demonstration project. The project will verify the conversion of time-series geospatial data from the SIP4D system into vector tiles for reduced data size and high-speed display. The demonstration period is from 24 July to 25 December 2026.
Ad-Sol Nissin Corporation announced that it had won an order to support a disaster information delivery demonstration project conducted by the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience. The project covers the Fundamental Disaster Management Information Sharing Network, SIP4D, and SIP4D-Sens, among others, and will verify whether large-volume time-series geospatial data can be handled.
During disasters, weather data, damage estimates, and satellite and sensor data are continuously updated. If the relevant organizations can quickly share this information on maps, it can support situational awareness and decision-making. At the same time, the increasing volume of data and high update frequency create challenges for display and communications.
The demonstration will convert the data into vector tiles, subdividing and reducing the size of the geospatial data, and will assess whether data in multiple formats can be visualized along a time axis. Stable operation in environments including Windows, Android, and iOS will be compared, along with data conversion time, delivery speed, image quality, and response performance.
In addition to SIP4D-related systems, the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience develops and operates SIP4D-Sens and DDS. The importance of technologies that enable information to be shared as it changes from immediately after a disaster is recognized. The demonstration period is from 24 July to 25 December 2026, during which technical feasibility and outstanding issues will be examined.
