YAMAZAKI BAKING CO.,LTD.'s steamed bun sales in the previous fiscal year (fiscal year ended December 2025) rose a substantial 11.5% year on year, exceeding the ¥10 billion mark.
A dough refresh carried out in September 2024 using technology from “Double Soft” contributed to the increase, while the establishment of steamed buns as a meal occasion was also cited as a factor.
Sales in the second quarter of the current fiscal year (fiscal year ending December 2026) reached ¥3.8 billion, continuing to trend firmly with a 1.4% year-on-year increase. Cool weather, mainly in eastern Japan, since August also provided support, and the season got off to a strong start.
The full-scale rollout for the 2026 season also began on 1 September. The company is expected to continue being led by its standard “Yamazaki Chinese Steamed Buns” lineup.
