Informetis Co.,Ltd. has partnered with ENECHANGE and signed an agreement to expand sales of BridgeLAB DR. The companies will leverage ENECHANGE's customer base to accelerate new customer acquisition and service adoption.
On 23 October 2026, Informetis Co.,Ltd. agreed to partner with ENECHANGE and signed an agreement aimed at expanding sales of BridgeLAB DR, a demand response (DR) support service for retail electricity providers. Through the partnership, the companies will establish a proposal and sales structure for BridgeLAB DR through ENECHANGE's customer touchpoints, accelerating new customer acquisition and wider adoption.
The background includes the expected increase in the capacity contribution to approximately ¥1.1 per kWh in fiscal 2026, which is placing pressure on retail providers' earnings, as well as the growing importance of DR in avoiding price volatility risk in the wholesale electricity market. The balancing market is also reaching a turning point, with the participation of low-voltage resources moving into full swing. Informetis aims to expand the market by strengthening demand forecasting using AI technology and algorithms that encourage behavioral change.
The number of companies using BridgeLAB DR exceeded 30 as of 15 October 2026. Although there are 823 registered retail electricity providers in Japan, the companies aim to expand adoption by establishing a direct proposal and sales structure for ENECHANGE's customer touchpoints through the partnership. ENECHANGE has a platform for electricity and gas comparison services and digitalisation support. The companies deepened their collaboration after signing a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the DR field in May 2025 and adopting NILM Lite for the service in February 2026.
Going forward, the companies plan to further promote BridgeLAB DR and expand functions that provide highly accurate AI-based demand forecasting and encourage optimal behavioral changes by individual demand customers. Informetis is expected to accelerate the provision of solutions for more sophisticated supply-demand operations and energy optimisation by combining its electricity data analytics with its partners' platforms, while also contributing to the promotion of renewable energy use.
